3D Print Design
WSU campus 3d model utilized GIS Data and displacement mapping with Autodesk 3ds max 2018 to generate the geometry in preparation for printing.
1/8 inch clear acrylic sheets are cut using the 26×16+ pro Full Spectrum Laser. Two sides of the case are cut at a time.
The base was cut from a single sheet of 24×18 sheet of MDF with the CNC Shopbot.
Four stands for each corner in the base are used to elevate the WSU Campus print. An LED pack will be housed in the base to illuminate the transparent materials used in the printing process.
