DNA Kits
What It Is
These DNA kits are another current project here at the Spark Academic Innovation Hub. The vision behind the DNA kits was to replace paper versions formerly used by Professor Lisa Carloye as visual aids when teaching about genetics. The DNA kits will be piloted in Carloye’s Science 102 class and then from there be considered for use in her Biology 102 class.
The Process
The DNA kits were first prototyped using Autodesk 3ds Max. The vector shapes were then created in Adobe illustrator, sent to Retina Engrave 3D 4.4.3, and cut out of acrylic using a Full Spectrum Laser 24x 16 + Pro.
