The latest project here in the Spark Academic Innovation Hub is laser-etched acrylic key chains. This project was proposed by strategic communication professors Rebecca Cooney and Chelsea Newman for their Digital Content Promotions class (COMSTRAT 310). The keychains are laser-etched with logos of mock companies students created for a semester-long project in the class.
The idea was to create a sculpture that not only emits light but also casts a shadow. The light box was created by cutting out a single sheet of wood with the laser cutter and bending it into the final shape.
