Clock Tower

A simple clock tower created with inspiration in mind from WSU’s own Bryan Clock Tower.

The detailed design of the tower went through many revisions in order to become printable and ensure the prints’ success. The model was designed in Maya Autodesk 2018 and printed on the Delta WASP 10ft. 3D printer.

The final model printed in around 6 hours and was printed using plastic filament (PLA).  The tower is 140mm tall with a 6mm wall girth. The 3D printer printed the model in a spiral format.

Spiral

3D model designed to hold up 3D printer while not in use and modeled in Autodesk Maya 2018 to protect the glass printing base from chipping and breaking.

Designed and modeled in Autodesk Maya 2018 and Autodesk 3ds and then exported as an OBJ file to be brought into Cura 2.7 to be scaled for printing. The OBJ file is then saved as a GCODE file. The large scale 3D printer is then prepped by transferring the file to the printer itself bringing the printer tip and glass printing base to temperature. Model is to be printed in one continuous spiral.
